Have you seen the packaging for Sony's new PlayStation Vita memory cards?

Wow. Just...wow.

The memory cards are about the size of a thumbnail, and yet they require an elaborate cardboard package, obviously to shove the PS Vita brand right into the face of prospective consumers.

Overkill much?

I think it just makes them more obvious on the shelves as well. Might have been better just as a plastic casing, but at least paper can be recycled. I do agree that the size of the packaging is pretty excessive.

Sony should have done an Apple and released 32, 64 and one better 128Gb models and scrapped memory cards or allowed an SD slot as well for extra storage?

Sony should have done an Apple and released 32, 64 and one better 128Gb models and scrapped memory cards or allowed an SD slot as well for extra storage?

Would have increased costs by a few $100 though :P

I am sure their will be one in the future though

they arent going to be on the shelves at most places though, they'll either be in a cabinet behind the counter or there'll be a card you take to the counter

My sentiments exactly! ...yes it would be harder to steal ...would this be out in public to steal ..NO! ..either locked in a cabinet or in the store room ..but I do agree that this is ridiculous and over kill and should be much smaller due to enviromental concern.
