PS Vita ‘too expensive for most’, 3DS sales ‘weak’

PlayStation Vita is “too expensive” for most consumers, according to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter.

Mr Pachter also believes that Vita’s software lineup is in need of big titles, and that a sales increase for the hardware won’t happen until good games come to the platform.

“Vita’s too expensive for most, priced pretty much the same as the PS3 everywhere,” he said. “While I think the Vita is a good value and a great device, when compared to the PS3 it’s pretty expensive.”

He was also critical of Nintendo’s new 3DS XL, saying the new hardware iteration wasn’t enough to increase “weak” 3DS global sales.

Late this year it mite be different with more better Vita game this year like AC3: Liberation, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal and CoD: Black Ops Declassified. Only if Monster Hunter comes in Vita then that will be great.

To me this is more the problem than the solution. AC3 around the same time as the console version, same with COD, All-Stars is the same as PS3. Where are the Vita only franchises? Where is something catered to the unique features of the PSVita? At the moment I've gone right off the idea of getting a Vita. I've seen nothing yet to justify getting one.

How about like the game file sync like in AC2 when u play the PSP AC: Bloodlines and sync ur data to the PS3 AC2 game u receive exclusive stuff from it.
It be good if AC3: Liberation and sync ur file to PS3 AC3 you receive a exclusive weapon or tool.
That's why I bought a PSP because u can do data sync with PS2 and PS3 games like SOCOM on PS2 and hoping that some PS Vita will do the same.

Gravity Rush? Obviously one game's not gonna push you to buy the system, but that does fit the bill of something you can only expirence on the Vita that uses unique features of it.
