Mortal Kombat is coming to PlayStation Vita.
Outside of Australia, at least.
Warner Bros. confirmed the game for release in Europe and North America in spring 2012, which puts the game right in the heart of Vita's launch period.
The game has been "designed specifically for on-the-go gaming with brand new gameplay features and content developed exclusively" for Sony's portable.
NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon said: "The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011's Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita.
"The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform."
Mortal Kombat on console is currently available in most regions aside from Australia, with the country's classification board banning the game ahead of its March 2011 release.
