Convert PS2 Games into PSP

Hi guys,

Is it possible for us to convert our PS2/PS Games into our psp? Isn't that a great function? Perhaps Sony should think about it.
it would be possible for the PSX games because you can just use them as a rom on an emulator but the ps2 games are 2-4 gig each and the UMD's can only hole 1.8gig i think it was
Um, what is PSX??
PSX=PS1

PSX was the development name for the first Playstation.
kelwin: undortunately you cant, plus to psp does not have the processing power of the ps2.

Skiff: a PSX is a Playstation console released ONLY in america and was rather useless anywhere else in the world, It was a hybrid of a PS2 and a Mediacentre, It used the same interface as the PSP, it had a built in tuner and hdd for recording tv etc.
Mentok: Incorrect, the orignal playstation is often refered to as a PSX but in actual fact its just a plain old PS
This whole PSX thing is new to me. I didn't know anything about it. I typed it in google image search and it came up with this wierd playstation that looked like a home cinema amp

err.. wtf? the PSX is just a PS1.
they should sell the umd blank discks
and we could put lots of anything on them
but then you need a burner pretty much ... the psp is just a reader so theres another $100 or more
franki3: yes thats the one its a bit white PVR
Sony will never release blank UMDs and UMD burners. It would be too easy to copy UMDs, and some one would find a way to burn ISOs on them, so no one will ever buy a game.
phayz3d: Wrong, google for PSX, you will see you are quite wrong indeed,

There would be ways to get around the UMD burner..
For example: if u look on the underside of a umd it's just a small cd (similar to gc ones) inside of a wierd looking case. So if you bought the 2 seperately you could quiet easily copy the games.

It would be interesting to see if you took the casing of a UMD cd, would it work inside your comper dvd drive...
Umm, I really dont think the UMD is the same teachnology as a normal CD. Seeing its fits more then twice as much and is 2x smaller, I really doubt it.
well it'd be the same technology nintendo have used for there games..
A mini dvd disc.. you can buy them at swap meets etc.

EDIT: the gamecube disc's hold 1.5gb
Everyone's right...

The PSX was one of the aliases for the original Play Station, however Sony then released it's PS2/multimedia-centre hybrid and printed a big PSX on the side of it... Caused a bit of confusion at the time, as it is doing now with all you guys... And me... Why they did it? Who knows...
Everyone must agree it would be good if a umd burner was made.
yeah it would be goood, but i dont think i would pay for it... rather just use the mem sticks anywho
i think they should reliece them it would be awsum movies and music and games on there it would be wicked
I wouldn't be surprised if Sony puts UMD support into their VAIO later on.
