PS Vita: Ask Uncle SONY (Q&A)

Do you have any questions/queries or even concerns about SONY PlayStation Vita?
Well then...Today is your day, because Uncle SONY is here to solve all your PS Vita problems (you can even ask me about the 3G, which I admittedly only used for a short time), lol.

Fire away!

P.S. I just want to clarify things, really.

SONY PlayStation Vita = The best hand-held console ever created!!!! *_*

Anyway, back to you...
In regards to data transfers.. Will the Vita be compatible with the Media Go! app on PC/Mac?

I'm probably the only person who uses it, but it's just convenient to have the SEN Store etc all in one package..
SONY.. Can you put a password/lock on them, the way you can on an iPod/iPhone?

No, unfortunately not. :(

With PSP games, not sure...with Vita games, I don't think so.

Mik3y said: iuno if its been asked b4 but if i use my AUS account on the vita, can I still play "Dream Club Zero" if i get it from the JP Store on my PS3 instead of a physical copy?

No, unfortunately, because if you can only use 1 PSN ID at a time...meaning, if you're logged onto your jp PSN ID/account and then as soon as you do factory reset to log onto your Aussie account you will lose DCZ. :(

A very good chance! I can't try, because my Vitas are Japanese, but I advise you to give it a try on Thursday.

Yes, but at the moment they're separated.

Damn. Physical copy of DCZ it is, then. :(
Will overseas copies of games eg UMvC3, connect to Aussie servers without a problem? There is a buy two, get one free deal on Amazon for Vita games, but I'm hesitant to purchase if the games won't have the best online experience...

Any games that require an online pass (all first party Sony games, wipeout, hot shots etc) will only work online in the region the game is from. Games like umvc3 and others that don't use an online pass will work online in any region.

Amazing! Cheers
Uncle SONY, if I were to buy a game in the US/Japan or any other region other than Australia, (physical copy) but my PS Vita is linked to my Australian PS Vita account will I still earn the trophys on my Aussie account if that's the one I'm using on my Vita, or do I have to use one from the region the game was bought from?

It's all good, because just like PS3 you can earn Trophies on your Aussie account using any region game.

Awesome, thanks SONY! Just wanted to double check seeing as how most of my games will be imports when I get one ^^
Is the vita still worth the $350 for someone who isn't a big Sony fan and who isn't really interested in the launch titles?

Yes, because PS Vita in itself is more worth it than having say...a 3DS or an iPad 2/3.

No point buying one if you're not gonna play any of the games...
Might as well wait and see if something sparks an interest.
Yes, this is coming from a PSVITA whore. I should be pushing you to just buy it anyway.

Every single one, girlfriend. If I could +1 million each one I would.

EDIT: Oops, I almost forgot...+1ing this post now.
@stonecold, why the facepalm?
Grandpa Sony, I've been thinking about importing a vita from overseas just for the money saving. What are the disadvantages of having an overseas model console imported and what can I be missing out on as a result of having an imported console.

Thanks
You lose warranty and an official Australian charger but apart from that you don't lose a thing.

What Vinzor up there ^ said.

So, really, there aren't any real disadvantages to be had. A big money saving is all you're going to be expecting!!! :D
With that said can I purchase an Australian charger and plug it in my wall with no worries ? Or will I need some sort of converter. Thanks for the help guys importing seems like the way I'm going to go.

So long as you don't score a faulty one.....

Just return it to the online store you purchased from.

No power converted, so it's all safe.
Sweet lastly who knows where the cheapest place to buy an AUS vita is ? Or if your selling one let me know lol (inc US models)

I'd probably wait until something interests you unless you really want one.

Even though I want to get one now i'm going to wait abit for a good bundle that screams must buy, hopefully the memory cards lower in price by then.
